Cookie Policy

Cookies and similar storage

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This website also uses local storage to remember your cookie preference. This policy describes Qbit's website controls and the storage used by its CMS.

Essential storage

The website uses a session cookie whose name starts with QBITSID followed by a site-specific identifier. It supports sessions, form security and authorised CMS access. It is a session cookie, normally removed when your browser session ends.

qbit_cms_remember is used when a CMS user chooses to remain signed in. It supports remembered authentication for up to 30 days. It is relevant to CMS users rather than ordinary visitors.

qbit-tracking-choice is a local-storage entry, not a cookie. It records whether optional tracking was accepted, the tracking configuration and an expiry date 180 days after the choice. The site asks again if the choice expires or the configuration changes. The stored entry may remain in your browser until replaced or removed, but is no longer treated as a valid choice after expiry.

Optional analytics and advertising

The CMS supports Google Analytics and a Meta Pixel when their identifiers are configured. Its tracking script loads these tools only after optional cookies are accepted. If no identifier is configured, the corresponding tool is not loaded.

Google Analytics can measure visits and interactions and may set cookies such as _ga and _ga_*. Meta Pixel can measure visits for advertising purposes and may use _fbp and, in some circumstances, _fbc. Their exact storage and duration depend on the provider and configuration; the live setup should be reviewed when these tools are enabled.

Provider information is available in Google's cookie information and Meta's cookie policy.

Your choices

Choose Essential only to decline optional tracking or Accept optional cookies to permit configured analytics and advertising tools. You can reopen the banner at any time using the Cookie settings button. Changing to Essential only reloads the page to stop the website from loading those optional tools.

Changing your choice does not necessarily remove cookies already stored by a third-party tool. You can delete these through your browser's site-data settings. You can also clear local storage there. Blocking essential cookies may prevent forms or CMS sign-in from working correctly.

External websites

Following a social, support or webmail link takes you to another service. Its own cookie and privacy policies apply. A normal external link is different from embedding that service's tracking on this page.
